Secure Data Wiping & Certified Erasure

Certified wiping permanently removes every trace of data while leaving the device fully usable. It's the most sustainable form of data destruction, and every erasure comes with its own verifiable certificate.

Deleting files, emptying the recycle bin, even formatting a drive — none of it actually removes data. Anyone with freely downloadable tools can recover 'deleted' files in minutes. Genuine data erasure means overwriting every addressable sector of the drive using certified software, then verifying the result.

We use industry-leading, government-approved erasure software to sanitise PCs, laptops, servers, loose drives and mobile devices. Each erasure is verified and produces a tamper-evident digital certificate recording the device serial, erasure standard used, verification result, operator and timestamp.

Because wiping preserves the hardware, it unlocks the best outcomes: wiped devices can be redeployed internally, sold to fund your next refresh, or donated — all with mathematically-proven confidence that your data is gone forever.

What's included

What this service covers

Government-approved software

We erase with certified, industry-standard tools trusted by governments and banks, supporting all recognised erasure standards.

SSD-aware sanitisation

Solid-state drives need specialist treatment. Our tooling uses firmware-level sanitise commands and verification designed for flash media.

Per-device digital certificates

Every wipe generates a verifiable certificate — serial number, standard, result, operator — stored and delivered as part of your audit pack.

100% verification

Erasures are verified automatically. Any drive that fails is escalated to physical destruction, so nothing slips through.

Servers & RAID arrays

Multi-drive systems, RAID controllers and hardware-encrypted volumes are handled with server-grade erasure workflows.

On-site wiping available

For policies that forbid data leaving the building, we bring the erasure lab to you and wipe before anything is removed.

What we collect

Not sure whether something qualifies? Ask — the list below is typical, not exhaustive.

  • Desktop and laptop drives, both HDD and SSD
  • Server drives, SAN and NAS storage arrays
  • Smartphones, tablets and mobile devices
  • Removable media — USB drives, SD cards and external disks
  • Multifunction printer and copier hard drives
  • Virtual and encrypted volumes requiring cryptographic erasure

Documentation you receive

Included as standard on every job — never charged as an extra.

  • Certificate of erasure per device, naming the standard applied
  • Verification result confirming the wipe was checked, not assumed
  • Serial number, make, model and capacity for each drive
  • Operator and timestamp for every erasure performed
  • Consolidated erasure report reconciled to your asset register

Step by step

How it works

  1. 1

    Asset intake

Devices are logged and serial-scanned into the erasure workflow, on your site or ours.

  2. 2

    Automated erasure

Certified software overwrites or firmware-sanitises every sector of every drive.

  3. 3

    Verification

Each erasure is verified; failures are diverted to physical shredding automatically.

  4. 4

    Certification

Digital certificates are generated per device and compiled into your compliance report.

  5. 5

    Reuse or return

Wiped devices are redeployed, remarketed for rebate, or returned to you — clean and ready for their next life.

Why it matters

The benefits at a glance

  • Permanent, verifiable, standards-based erasure
  • Keeps hardware alive for reuse or resale
  • The most sustainable data destruction method
  • Digital certificates that stand up to audit
  • Works across HDD, SSD, mobile and server estates
  • Failed drives automatically escalated to shredding
Common questions

Secure Data Wiping FAQs

Yes. Certified erasure overwrites every addressable sector and verifies the result — no laboratory technique can reconstruct data that has been properly overwritten. The certificate documents exactly which standard was applied to which serial number.
